NEWS: NOTEWORTHY SETTLEMENT

By Attorney Susan M. Mooney

According to Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly, Attorney Susan M. Mooney's $1.4 Million Dollar settlement of a case against a licensed liquor establishment alleging improper service of alcohol to a nineteen (19) year old was one of the one hundred (100) highest settlements in Massachusetts during 1999. The nineteen (19) year old, while driving drunk, caused a motor vehicle crash resulting in a traumatic brain injury to our client. Additional settlement in the same case was reached with the drunk driver for an undisclosed amount. Prior to Attorney Mooney's representation in the case, undertaken nearly three (3) years after the injury, the client had been offered only $20,000, which was recommended to her by prior counsel as an acceptable settlement, as the maximum amount available to her to settle her claims.
